Where We Are Now

After finding and remediating mold twice in our Colorado home, we abandoned ship in October 2008. Because of the high levels of exposure, our entire family was affected. After months of seeing different specialists for all of the problems, we came to Arizona to begin comprehensive treatment to rid our bodies of the toxic buildup. In August 2009 we moved into a larger home, four bedrooms, south of Tucson, north of Mexico. I am doing my daily radio program/ writing from that location. Thanks for praying for us. We really feel it.

A radio friend, Wayne Shepherd, called yesterday and mentioned a name you may remember. Jim Warren. Jim was the host of Prime Time America on Moody Radio for many years. Jim and I worked together—he on Prime Time, me on a program called Open Line. He was the most hard-working host I've ever encountered in my radio years. He loved doing what he did.

Jim's health has not been that great the past few years. He's been in the hospital for much of the past year. I won’t go into all of his problems, but Jim made a difficult decision in the past couple of days about his health, and with his family around him, it sounds like in a short while he will be free of the pain he's been through.

That’s up to God, of course. But I wanted you to know about Jim and I would like you to pray for him, for his wife Jean who has been by his side faithfully for so many years. Pray for their children who are also walking through this valley. This is not the easy part. This is the tough part. But if Jim could speak on my program, I think he would say that God’s grace has been evident even through these difficult days. And we can trust him. And lean on him. And cast every care upon him because he knows what we need.

So if you would pray for Jim and the family—I would appreciate it. And if you would like to send a card to him and his family, here's the address:

Jim and Jean Warren
4732 Doug Dr.
Whitehall, MI 49461

Also, we'll be conducting a tribute program for Jim on Friday, 5/20, Hour 2 of Chris Fabry Live! If you would like to say something to Jim, tell him what he has meant to you, call 1 866-953-2279 and leave a message. You can start the call with, "Hi Jim..."

Chris, the news about Jim Warren hits pretty close to home for me. Jim was a good friend when I was at Moody in 1971-74, and we often talked about how great it would be to do a program like Prime Time America. We didn't know about that title at the time, but certainly, Jim had a big dream. As we know, that dream came true for Jim, and it was a joy to see how his hard work and determination paid off in a program that blessed and helped many.

One specific phrase describes Jim Warren well.....a prayer warrior. When my wife's mother was battling cancer about 11 years ago, Jim would call me about once a week and ask if he "could pray for our family" and then he would go to the Lord on our behalf. I will never forget those special moments when someone named Jim with a very caring heart cared enough to make the call and pray.

I'm just a Moody listener in the sticks of Illinois but have fond memories of Jim & Melinda on Prime Time America. I felt like they were my friends.

Praying for the family as they walk this path.

It has been an honor to know Jim and Jean both. I have to say, Jean has gone above and beyond the call of a caregiver, she is amazing, and I know that is not always an easy part to play in life. As for Jim, I will always remember the way he would make sure the caregiver was o.k., and he always prayed with us. He always made us feel like family, a very special friend, and I thank him so much for all the stories of his radio days. I loved every one of them, and am looking forward to hearing more of them some day.

Thank You Jim and Jean

He's the Ronald Reagan of Moody. I heard him all my growing up years. Jim, you've made an impact. Thank you. Blessings to Jim & the entire Warren Family.

I worked for Moody Radio from 1970-79. I enjoyed talking with Jim because he had great ideas with a down to earth godly spirit. He would encourage me and I tried to encourage him. After he moved to Whitehall, Jim would call RBC Ministries once in a while and we would talk and catch up with one another. He has been a real blessing to me. When I went to West Suburban School of Nursing Jean worked in the office. I dog sat for their dogs at different times. Whenever Jim and I would pass each other we would talk about bicycles. One day Jim said was, "Alice, when the time is right I will try to get you on WMBI." Chris, when I was on the show last fall with you, and on another occasion with Nancy Turner, my heart was touched and sparked by his amazing gift of radio. I loved listening to Prime Time. But better yet, I enjoyed talking with him at his home and in the area of Oak Park.
