Where We Are Now
After finding and remediating mold twice in our Colorado home, we abandoned ship in October 2008. Because of the high levels of exposure, our entire family was affected. After months of seeing different specialists for all of the problems, we came to Arizona to begin comprehensive treatment to rid our bodies of the toxic buildup. In August 2009 we moved into a larger home, four bedrooms, south of Tucson, north of Mexico. I am doing my daily radio program/ writing from that location. Thanks for praying for us. We really feel it.

Today on Chris Fabry Live, it's the return of Andrea Fabry. Not only is this her first appearance in a while, it is her birthday. Let me tell you a bit about this wonderful AARP member.
We met while I was in college. She had graduated UVA the same year I graduated high school. When she moved to West Virginia to take a job at a local radio station, she decided to get involved with the youngsters over at the University because she had been spiritually affected by a campus ministry (FCA) while she attended school. (She was an accomplished tennis player.)
I still remember seeing her that first night as I led songs for our InterVarsity meeting. Those blue bell-bottoms and the blue shirt with the stripes. Ahhh. She was lovely then and she hasn't changed much at all, even after bearing nine chirren.
Our wedding was on the anniversary of our first date. (Gary Chapman would not have approved of such a short engagement.) We've lasted 26.5 years and if I had known what we would have to go through, I could not have picked a better person to be my wife. Adaptable. Giving. Loves to laugh. Empathetic. Interested in my favorite subject: me. Always looking out for the interests of others. Has a heart that yearns for God. Loves her children, long walks in the desert, and birds. Has become an expert on mold because she had to. Saved our lives with her tenacity. I could go on and on.
This is her first birthday without her mom, so I know it will be bittersweet. Join me in wishing her a Happy Birthday.

What an amazing woman! Happy Birthday hugs to Andrea - she (and you) deserve the very best. Praying that the new home will work out well and not cause any additional health concerns. My best to each member of your family.
Thanks, Chris, for "learnin' " me about Andrea, as I have really never had the chance to get to know her...or you, actually. I have always enjoyed hearing both of you and your easy-to-listen-to manner on the radio.
(BTW, I smiled when I read your comment about Andrea bearing your nine "chirren," as that's a southern term I also grew up with.)
Please offer Andrea my best birthday wishes. Tell her that I also understand the empty space in her heart that belongs only to her mother.

Chris, happy birthday to your lovely wife.
Three weeks after we met, my future wife and I were talking about getting married. We did -- six months later. This month we celebrate 36 years. Cool, no?
P.S. June Bug arrived from Amazon yesterday. :)
Andrea, best wishes on your birthday!! I can tell you know how blessed you are.
I still am tender on special days without my parents. My mom has been gone nearly 18 years and my dad 10 years. As a matter of fact, tomorrow would be Dad's 100th birthday.
I trust our Lord will help you continue to cherish the memories and the legacy of love your mother left for you.
I continue to pray for your family as your health is restored and you continue on this unexpected journey.

Happy Birthday Andrea
You look so lovely in that picture and thank you for being so open and honest about your life. You just helped me to be more supportive to my husband on a project he wanted to do now for 12 years. I hope you enjoy you day.
Oh I'm listening to you from the Turks and Caicos Islands.
I was so excited to hear that it's Andrea's birthday today because it is my birthday too! And since I decided that I can do "whatever I want to" on my birthday, part of it was listening to one of my favorite radio programs - Chris Fabry Live! I include you as a "friend" although my kids insist that's not possible because we never met. But I surely appreciate hearing all the topics and guests you have on, also being fellow homeschoolers. Someday, I hope to meet you and my other radio "friends" in heaven!
I enjoyed your program today as I happened to be in the car. I had to come check out your blog to see Andrea's picture, and I think her hair looks FABULOUS! It was nothing close to what I was envisioning! ;) (This will be especially helpful to me in another decade or two when I reach "that point" in my life.) I love listening whenever I get the chance--especially when Andrea's on. (She and my sister happen to share a birthday.) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday, Andrea! I heard only part of today's show but wanted to add my prayer and comfort for the first birthday without your mom. My mom died Jan. 18, 1996, and my birthday followed on Feb. 7th. I was hit with an unexpected wallop too, just as you said, that the person who made it my "birthday" was not on earth anymore! It was very hard and I now recognize that comfort needs to be given on that first birthday. So I ask for God to bring that to you, plus the joy that she is with Him today and you will be reunited in heaven!.
That Andrea is one heck of a woman...and you are so BLESSED to have her for a companion!
I, too, pray all will work out with the new house (and actually with the old house in COlorado)
I lost my mom at age 38 and appreciate her more each year as I near the age she was when she died.
You blog today was so touching. Thank you for sharing it with us.
In case you get this in time. My cousin wrote a new children's book that will be out in Oct called A Man Called Nicolas. It is about the legend of Santa Claus with the biblical emphasis. If you want to read it for free it is on amancallednicolas.com till sunday for free.
Thank you for taking us on the journey of your life. It lightens our load.

Happy birthday, Andrea! I enjoyed listening to you 2 Fri on the show. I love listening to you talk, your words drip with wisdom from such a full, abundant life.
A very belated happy birthday wish, Andrea. Though I've only met you once or twice, I knew from that moment that you are woman who strives to please the heart of God. Though in our humanity we may question, He really is enough. Both you and Chris chose wisely with each other!
Blessings!

Hope she had a great B-da. I remember about13 or so years ago listening on the raido to I think mid day connection. It was about Moms staying home and that was my desire so much with my first daughter and I guess you all had aobut 6 or 7 then. Couldn't believe that number then but now guess what we just had our 6th. Through the years God has somehow put people in my path, in person, on the radio, or by good books to show me what a blessing large families can be. Even though I don't know her I feel like I made a connection all those years ago. There are not many people I can remember there names from that many years ago but I always remember that name. Bless you and your family!! Missy in TN
