Where We Are Now

After finding and remediating mold twice in our Colorado home, we abandoned ship in October 2008. Because of the high levels of exposure, our entire family was affected. After months of seeing different specialists for all of the problems, we came to Arizona to begin comprehensive treatment to rid our bodies of the toxic buildup. In August 2009 we moved into a larger home, four bedrooms, south of Tucson, north of Mexico. I am doing my daily radio program/ writing from that location. Thanks for praying for us. We really feel it.

So THAT's the reason the world is in such bad shape. Morgan Freeman is God. He confessed this in an interview with Fox News. Of all places. You can read it here.

This takes a lot of the guesswork out of my life. No longer do I have to worry how to address God. I can pray to Morgan. If my kids ask what God looks like, which they don’t anymore, I can tell them. “That guy next to Tim Robbins in Shawshank Redemption. That’s what he looks like.”

We don’t have to wonder who God supports in sporting events or politics. Morgan Freeman is not a Republican.

Sure, there will probably be those who will argue whether Morgan exists, but my guess is that agnostics will be less inclined to say we can’t know.

Life is so much easier knowing Morgan Freeman is God. I don’t have to wonder which church to go to anymore, it’ll be the one with “Morgan” in the name. Assemblies of Morgan. United Church of Morgan.

It also makes the exclamation that grates against me a little more palatable. I can’t see correcting someone who says, “Oh my Morgan.”

Perhaps he didn’t really mean what he said, though. Should we take Morgan at his word? Or did he mean each one of us is God? Each one of us has a tiny, itsy bitsy piece of God and if we’ll water that piece and tend it, it will grow until we each become people with bigger pieces of God. Is that what he meant? And if your God particle grows, you’ll be more successful and the box office will reward you.

How did this happen? Perhaps becoming God was on Morgan’s bucket list. Who can know the mind of Morgan? After reading the article, I’d say he sure moves in mysterious ways. And it’s clear from his political views that Morgan does not help those who help themselves.

Well, even though it makes life easier, I don’t think I can worship Morgan in spirit and truth. I’m taking the more traditional route. The old, outdated mode of thinking that says you and I are not God, we were created by him but we are fallen and desperately flawed. Sinners, every one of us, without hope of knowing God or having a relationship with him, unless God intervenes. Which he did, thank God. The hymn writer said it well:

Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood;

I put my faith and trust in that truth. My sin, oh the bliss, was nailed to the cross and I bear it no more. God already became one of us and sacrificed himself, interposed his precious blood. Instead of becoming God, I can know him and serve him.

This I believe, for the love of Morgan.

Good article. I wonder if Morgan was wearing those sunglasses when he said, "Let there be light". I hope he realizes that he isn't God before he meets God.

If Morgan Freeman is god,then why is he hosting "Through the Wormhole"? Shouldn't he just explain all the mysteries of the universe instead?

Yeah, I take from the context that he has some of the ideas of Friedrich Schleiermacher as a part of his religious views.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_Schleiermacher

That is to say that religion is a human construct. It is the opposite of my own view that God revealed himself to man. I thought the headlines were a bit misleading. It is quite different to have delusions of grandeur, thinking that one is above everyone else. It is quite another to hold a Schleiermacher view of religion where it is best studied as human experience, God is an idea that people invent and gives some benefit to individuals and/or societies. I would see Schleiermacher's view as not the Biblical faith.

I could not help, but immediately think of King Nebuchadnezzer's decent into madness because of his pride. My heart aches at Mr. Freeman's (and my own) wickedness and pride.
2 Kings 19:22 Who is it you have insulted and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel.

Proverbs 8:13 To Fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

Each of us is guilty of the sin of pride. Forgive us Lord. Please, humble us. Please, heal our land. Forgive Mr. Freeman, Lord. Humble him and cause him to repent and be saved. In Jesus' name. Amen

There's so many of us who fall into this kind of mental trap, everyone has an idolatrous heart. In this case, before we look at Morgan's idol, i.e. himself, we need to evaluate the way we make false gods in our lives. Didn't Jesus say, "Before we look at the speck in someone else's eyes, we need to take the log out of our own eyes."?

This is My response to Morgan Freeman's admission that he is...... And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Matthew 19:24 Now let us continue to pray for him & the rest of the world!! How many other Hollywood/worldly people think this way! Lord Come!

We all know he does not understand who God is. However, I would like to say this. In God almighty Jim Carrey's character is to take God's place but he has trouble when he hears prayers what to do. God [ morgan Freeman] calls him to where he stays. Putting his arm aroud him he explains what he needs to know. But then he speaks one of the greatest lines to me God could ever speak. He says there is only one thing you cannot do, YOU CAN HELP THEM BUT YOU CANNOT MESS WITH THIER FREE WILL Who ever wrote that line understands something of who God is.

This is not a very intellectual comment, but the title of this post makes me laugh out loud.
